Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, marking a historic first for India in team shooting. The Indian hockey team, led by Harmanpreet Singh, secured a strong 2-0 win over Ireland. In badminton, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty advanced to the quarterfinals with a dominant performance. However, Indian boxers Amit Panghal, Jaismine Lamboria, and Preeti Pawar all suffered defeats, highlighting a challenging day in the ring.
Shooting
Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, making them the first Indian pair to win a medal in a team shooting event at the Olympics. Prithviraj Tondaiman finished 21st out of 30 in men’s trap shooting, ending his run in the competition.
Rowing
India’s only rower in the Paris Olympics, Balraj Panwar, finished fifth in his men’s single sculls quarterfinal race on Tuesday. He will now compete for lower positions.
Archery
Ankita Bhakat lost 4-6 to Poland’s Wioleta Myszor in the women’s individual 1/32 round. Bhajan Kaur won two matches, beating Indonesia’s Syifa Nurafifah Kamal 7-3 in the women’s individual 1/32 and Poland’s Wioleta Myszor 6-0 in the women’s individual 1/16, advancing to the pre-quarterfinals. Dhiraj Bommadevara defeated Czech Republic’s Adam Li 7-1 in the men’s individual 1/32 but lost 5-6 to Canada’s Eric Peters in the men’s individual 1/16.

Hockey
The Indian men’s hockey team won against Ireland, even though they made a few defensive mistakes. This win likely ensures their place in the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics. Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored twice in the 2-0 victory in a Pool B match on Tuesday.
Badminton
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Adrianto 21-13, 21-13, securing a spot in the quarterfinals. Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto lost 15-21, 10-21 to Australia’s Setyana Mapasa and Gronya Somerville.
Boxing
Amit Panghal lost 1-4 to Zambia’s Patrick Chinyemba in the men’s 51kg round of 16. Jaismine Lamboria lost unanimously to the Philippines’ Nesthy Petecio in the women’s 57kg round of 32. Preeti Pawar faced a close 2-3 split decision loss against Colombia’s Yeni Marcela Arias in the women’s 54kg round of 16.
