The Irani Cup match for the 2024-25 season, which was supposed to take place in Mumbai, has been shifted to Lucknow due to extended monsoon rains. Originally scheduled to be held from October 1 to October 5, this game will feature Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai taking on the Rest of India.
Avasthi Joins Duleep Trophy
Mumbai fast bowler Mohit Avasthi, who led the team in wickets last season with 31 dismissals in eight matches, has been picked for the remaining Duleep Trophy matches. He had a fantastic season, helping Mumbai claim their 42nd Ranji title with an average of 15.74. Avasthi will now represent India ‘B’ in the Duleep Trophy.
Young Ayush Shines with a Century
Seventeen-year-old Ayush Mhatre made an impressive mark in just his second match for Mumbai’s senior team. He scored a brilliant 140 runs (291 balls, 12 fours, 4 sixes) on the first day of the Dr. (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament match against Gujarat.
