Irfan wrote on his official X account that Mumbai Indians, who had Jasprit Bumrah this season after missing him last year, are struggling because of poor management on the field, especially by their captain Hardik Pandya. This season, they haven’t been able to repeat their success from last year, which has made people doubt their strategies and chances in the tournament. They’re currently in ninth place with four games left to play, trailing behind Chennai Super Kings by four points, even though they’ve played one more match.
Irfan has previously criticized Hardik Pandya for getting too much priority from the Indian team management. He believes that until India wins the World Cup, Hardik shouldn’t be given so much importance. According to Irfan, Hardik hasn’t made a big impact at the international level as an all-rounder, despite his performances in the IPL. He thinks there’s a big difference between IPL and international cricket performances.
