This achievement makes Ravindra Jadeja becomes seventh Indian to take 300 Test wickets, following legends like Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev. Remarkably, Jadeja is the second fastest Indian to achieve this based on the number of balls bowled.

Jadeja secured his 300th wicket by taking the last wicket of Bangladesh on the fourth day. With Bangladesh at nine wickets down, Indian captain Rohit Sharma called Jadeja to bowl. He managed to dismiss tailender Khaled Ahmed, who was out for zero, marking this landmark moment in Jadeja’s 73rd Test match.

Bangladesh batted first and finished their innings at 233 runs. This was after the second and third days of the match were affected by rain, preventing any play. Mominul Haque contributed significantly with an unbeaten century, scoring 107 runs.

With this achievement, Jadeja joins an elite group of Indian bowlers who have taken 300 Test wickets. The list is led by the legendary Anil Kumble with 619 wickets, followed by Ravichandran Ashwin with 523, Kapil Dev with 434, Harbhajan Singh with 417, Zaheer Khan with 311, and Ishant Sharma also with 311.

Jadeja has bowled a total of 17,428 balls to reach this milestone, making him the second quickest Indian to do so in Test cricket, behind Ashwin, who achieved it in 15,636 balls. Besides his bowling success, Jadeja is also an accomplished all-rounder, having scored 3,122 runs in Tests at an average of 36.73, including 4 centuries and 21 half-centuries.
