It was a very unlucky day for the Chennai Super Kings. Even before the match started, two of their players, Tushar Deshpande and Matheesha Pathirana, couldn’t play because one was sick and the other had a small injury. Then, during the game, Deepak Chahar hurt himself in the first over.
Chennai had to use Sameer Rizvi as an important player because of the injuries. This meant Ruturaj Gaikwad, their captain, didn’t have many good bowlers to rely on. This gave the Punjab team’s batters a chance to score more easily.
“It’s a real problem,” Gaikwad said. “There were times when we really needed to get a wicket, but we only had two bowlers who could do it. Also, because of the dew, our spinners couldn’t play well. It was a tough day, but these things happen sometimes. We still have four more games to play. I hope we can do better in those games.”
So, Chennai Super Kings had a tough time in the match because of injuries to their players. They hope to do better in the upcoming games.
