Philip Salt of the Adelaide Strikers was dismissed by one of these catches from Cooper. As Cooper positioned himself at the deep mid-wicket boundary, Salt’s shot from Jack Wildermuth’s delivery came directly to him. In the 35th match of the 10th Big Bash League season at Carrara Oval, Sydney Sixers’ fast bowler Jackson Bird pulled off a unique catch using his legs to dismiss Brisbane Heat’s wicket-keeper Jimmy Peirson. It all started in the 15th over’s second delivery, when Peirson, batting during the power surge, struck a ball from Jake Ball. Bird, positioned at extra cover, initially missed the catch despite a well-timed jump. However, as he fell, he managed to use his legs to prevent the ball from touching the ground.
