In 2016, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the Indian Premier League (IPL) with David Warner leading the team. Their bowlers supported the batters well. Warner played strongly with the bat, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the bowling with confidence, taking 23 wickets.
But in the last three seasons, SRH didn’t perform well. So, they signed Pat Cummins from Australia for a lot of money, hoping he and Bhuvneshwar Kumar can boost the team. It’s not yet time to see how well they’ll do in the 2024 IPL, but for now, fans can enjoy remembering SRH’s best bowling moments. Here are the top five.
Here’s the list of 5 best bowling performances for SRH:
5. Umran Malik’s 5/25 against Gujarat Titans (GT) in 2022

He got some important players out like Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Wriddhiman Saha, and David Miller. But even though he did well, Hyderabad didn’t win the match because Rashid Khan from the other team played really well and helped his team win. Umran got an award for being the best player in the match because of his amazing bowling.
4. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 5/19 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2017
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been playing for SRH since 2014. He has done really well in the last 10 years, helping his team win many matches. He’s special because he’s the only bowler in IPL history to win the Purple Cap two times in a row.
In 2017, even though SRH couldn’t keep their title, Bhuvneshwar was the best bowler of the tournament. He took 26 wickets in 14 matches and didn’t give away many runs. In one match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, he took five wickets, which was a first for an SRH bowler.
Facing a tough batting team like Punjab, Bhuvneshwar did a great job. He stopped them from scoring too many runs even though SRH didn’t have a huge score to defend. He got out important batsmen like Hashim Amla, Glenn Maxwell, and Manan Vohra, who could have caused trouble for his team. He also got the wickets of Mohit Sharma and KC Cariappa. Because of his great bowling, SRH won the match by five runs.

He got three wickets in a row, which is called a hat-trick, for the second time in IPL history. SRH had a low score to defend, just 119 runs, but Mishra’s bowling figures of 4 wickets for 19 runs helped them win by 11 runs. He took all four wickets in the 19th over of the match.
Mishra’s first wicket was Pune’s captain, Angelo Mathews, who got out on the second ball of the over. Then, he dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rahul Sharma, and Ashok Dinda on the next three deliveries, securing the win for Hyderabad.
