Vinesh Phogat, a former Indian wrestler, resigned from her position at Indian Railways for personal reasons. This move comes amid rumors that she may join the Congress party.
Her Statement
On Friday, Vinesh shared her resignation letter on X, expressing her gratitude for her time with Indian Railways. She worked as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) with Northern Railways.
“I have decided to leave the railway service at this stage of my life. I am thankful to Indian Railways for the opportunity,” she wrote.
Background
The 30-year-old wrestler had retired from wrestling after being disqualified from the 50kg gold medal match at the Paris Olympics. Her appeal against the disqualification was turned down by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
