Caught on Camera: Delhi Capitals’ Instagram Post Goes Viral After Sanju Samson’s Dismissal Controversy

Delhi Capitals shared a photo on social media from their recent IPL 2024 match. It showed Shai Hope catching Sanju Samson, but there’s a debate. Some people think Hope’s catch was clean, while others believe he touched the boundary rope. The controversy erupted because Samson, batting at 86, hit the ball straight to Hope at long-on. Replays suggested that Hope might have touched the rope while catching. The third umpire decided in favor of Delhi Capitals, which made Samson unhappy. There was even an argument between Samson and the on-field umpires. On Instagram, Delhi Capitals captioned the photo with “Shai Pakde Hain,” which means “Shai caught it” in Hindi. This post fueled the controversy even more.

I thought we had a good chance to win. We needed to score around 11 to 12 runs every over, which seemed possible. But sometimes things don’t go as planned in the IPL. We’re doing well overall, and we’ll stick to our strategies based on the conditions. The target of 220 runs was a bit tough, maybe 10 runs more than ideal. If we had given away fewer boundaries, we could have made it.

The Delhi Capitals opener, Fraser McGurk, played as he has been doing in the tournament. Despite that, we managed to make a comeback. Although we’ve lost three games, they were all close ones. We’ve been playing really well, but we need to make some adjustments to bounce back. We have to maintain our momentum.

Regarding the performance, there are mixed feelings. Stubbs played well against our top bowlers like Sandeep Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal. Sandeep has been bowling excellently in the last few matches, but Stubbs hit a few extra sixes. We lost, so we need to analyze where we went wrong and keep improving,” said Samson after the match.
