Deco stated, “Chelsea activated his release clause, and he left. He had an old contract with a €6 million release clause. Chelsea offered him a significant contract and a promising project, which is why he decided to leave Barcelona.”
He added, “We presented him with a chance to be a forward for Barcelona, but he chose not to stay.”
Guiu’s Current Status
At Chelsea, Guiu has had limited playing time so far this season. He has only appeared for 25 minutes in the Premier League and has yet to start a game under the new manager, Enzo Maresca, as he adjusts to English football.
